Requires an entity that conducts blasting to notify the division.

For income tax years commencing on or after January 1, 2008, but prior to January 1, 2018, there shall be allowed a credit with respect to the income taxes imposed pursuant to the provisions of this article in the amount of $125 per income tax year to any qualified volunteer firefighter.

As expected, the sponsor asked the committee to PI (Postpone Indefinitely) the bill, as it is a revenue reduction bill and must start in the House. This action has the same effect as killing the bill. This bill was replaced by HB08-1324, Concerning an Income Tax Credit for Volunteer Firefighters (Witwer, Kopp), which has been introduced in the House and assigned to Finance Committee.

In February, 2007, the Colorado State Fire Chiefs’ Association conducting a survey of fire chiefs of volunteer and combination fire departments to determine the level of support for HB07-1153, Concerning A Tax Rebate For Volunteer Firefighters (Witwer/Kopp).
