The Colorado State Fire Chiefs provides leadership, education, and support to the Chief Officers of Colorado fire departments in order to promote the protection of life and property from fire, natural, and man-made disasters, and other sudden emergencies. Colorado State Fire Chiefs seeks primarily to further cooperation among Colorado's fire and emergency services agencies; to provide fire and emergency services training and education to fire chiefs, officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel; and to promote life safety and public education in the areas of fire suppression, fire prevention, EMS, hazardous materials, emergency rescue, and all-hazards emergency management.
The CSFC is a Colorado nonprofit corporation, which currently is in the process of applying for federal 501(c)(3) recognition.
The vision of the CSFC is to assist chief fire officers across the State of Colorado in their efforts to protect all of Colorado's life and property from fire and other disasters. It is a dynamic organization, characterized by integrity, innovation, community focus, and proactive leadership. CSFC strives to build strategic alliances, mentor aspiring leaders, and advance the safety of all Colorado communities by supporting the professional development of the fire and emergency services industry through training and continuing education.
The Fire Leadership Challenge is the Colorado State Fire Chiefs' premier conference. The annual event brings together more than 400 fire and emergency services leaders and dynamic instructors from around the State of Colorado and the nation.
It is unquestionable that fire and emergency services providers are leaders within their communities. The Fire Leadership Challenge provides unique training and education designed to prepare chief officers, command officers, and firefighters to successfully lead their departments in providing quality emergency services to their communities and the State, and to successfully lead their communities in advancing public education about and prevention of fire and medical emergencies.

CSFC's members form a vast network of peers, providing a sounding board for chief officers to share ideas and concerns, and find solutions to challenges facing their organizations.

Colorado State Fire Chiefs represents the fire and emergency services needs of Colorado's public and providers to the following organizations, committees, and initiatives, and provides the mechanism for information sharing and two-way communications:
The CSFC also is the sponsoring organization for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Local Assistance State Team (LAST), which provides support and assistance to local fire departments, upon request, in the event of line-of-duty deaths.
CSFC General Membership Meetings are held quarterly in March, June, September, and December in various locations around the State. These meetings are intended to be educational and each includes a featured topic and speaker. General Membership Meetings also allow CSFC members to network with peers and to provide input into the CSFC's direction and position on public policy issues.
The CSFC has established ten sections to permit members in specialized fire service-related fields to collaborate and communicate with one another regarding their unique role in providing fire and emergency services to the public.
